Merrimack entered the NCAA Tournament as the 6-seed. The championship team traveled to Erie, PA, Long Island, NY and Syracuse, NY knocking off the top three seeds in the tournament before advancing to the championship game in Philadelphia, PA. With their backs against the wall, the 6 Train mentality was born and greatness was achieved.

After losing in the championship the prior year, Merrimack returned with a vengeance. The team took what was theirs and left zero questions. While the name 6 Train hadn’t yet been official, the team worked hard each and every day to achieve their goal of winning.
"I just love working hard. I love being part of a team; I love working toward a common goal".
- Tom Brady
